Victorian Style Ornate Cast Brass Double Inkstand and Letter Rack - A large cast brass double inkstand and desk standish executed in the Rococo Revival style. The piece features an elaborate, tall backplate with pierced foliate scrollwork designed for holding stationery and letters. Below this is a recessed, decorated channel serving as a pen rest. The stand is flanked by two circular inkwell compartments, each fitted with a hinged, domed lid and an acorn-shaped finial. The shaped base is heavily decorated with scrollwork, diaper-pattern backgrounds, and acanthus leaf motifs, all supported by four integral scrolled feet. The casting is crisp throughout. No maker marks or hallmarks are visible. Width: 29 cm.
