Chinese Yixing Zisha Plum Tree Stump Teapot - A Chinese Yixing stoneware teapot constructed from dark reddish-brown unglazed Zisha clay, specifically of the zini variety. The vessel is modelled in a naturalistic plum tree stump form, featuring a cylindrical body with a vertical section of deeply carved, textured bark. The exterior is decorated with hand-applied relief work depicting gnarled prunus branches and plum blossoms. The spout and handle are fashioned to resemble knotty, gnarled branches. The flat inset lid is surmounted by a branch-form finial with accompanying blossom motifs. No maker marks or seals are visible on the exterior surfaces provided for inspection.
