A Capodimonte ? Cobalt Blue Lidded Porcelain Jar with Dove Finial - This decorative lidded porcelain jar is of Italian origin and features characteristics associated with Capodimonte production. The vessel has a globular body supported by four moulded feet and is flanked by two integral scrolled handles. The exterior is finished with a mottled cobalt blue glaze and decorated with elaborate relief-moulded rococo scrollwork. A central cartouche on the body contains a hand-painted floral arrangement featuring a pink rose and orange blossoms, bordered by a gilt scrollwork frame. The lid is surmounted by a large finial in the form of a white dove with outstretched wings. Gilt highlights are applied to the rims, handles, feet, and the feathers of the finial. The unglazed base bears incised marks reading CAPODIMONTE and MADE IN ITALY.
