Bidspirit auction | Two 19th Century Wooden Boxes

Two 19th Century Wooden Boxes including a Tunbridge Style Inlaid Trinket Box - This lot comprises two nineteenth-century wooden boxes of varying styles. The smaller box is a decorative trinket or work box featuring Tunbridge-style inlaid geometric banding and diamond-shaped marquetry escutcheons on the lid and front. It is finished in a light-coloured wood veneer and the interior is lined with a small-scale star-patterned paper. The second, larger box is a dark-stained hardwood storage box, possibly mahogany, featuring dovetail joints and a brass diamond-shaped escutcheon. This larger box contains various packing materials, including paper printed with a repeating green Binns department store motif, and a red cardboard box containing a London Pride Chromatic Harmonica No. 10. Both boxes are fitted with internal hinges and locks, though no keys are present.
