Decorative Relief-Moulded Tabletop Storage Box - A decorative rectangular storage box or casket constructed from composite wood panels featuring relief-moulded decoration. The exterior is adorned with floral and foliate scrollwork, with a central circular mandala-style motif on the lid. The piece is finished in a distressed cream and taupe palette, with the moulded edges and integrated bracket feet highlighted in metallic gold-tone paint. The interior is finished in a matt black paint. The box is fitted with original gold-tone butterfly hinges and a single metal stay-arm on the left-hand interior. There are no visible maker's marks or manufacturer's labels; a small yellow adhesive label bearing the numerals 5042 is present on the lid.
