A Royal Crown Derby Treasures of Childhood Spotty Clown Porcelain Figurine - A Royal Crown Derby fine bone china figurine titled Spotty Clown, produced as part of the Treasures of Childhood series. The figure is modelled in a recumbent pose with arms and legs outstretched. The decoration features a white glaze base with hand-painted blue polka dots and three red buttons. Extensive gilding is applied to the ears, hat, and cuffs. The soles of the clown's feet are finished with a red and gold chequered pattern. The underside of the piece bears several markings in red, including the factory name, the copyright date 2003, the title Spotty Clown, and the year cypher MMIV indicating a production date of 2004. Further marks include the orange Royal Crown Derby crown mark, a small orange circular stamp, and a hand-painted brown decorator's mark. The figurine is accompanied by its original blue presentation box and a secondary Treasures of Childhood themed cardboard box.
