Mid-19th Century Embossed Copper and Brass Sunburst Powder Flask - An antique mid-19th-century gunpowder flask, intended for sporting use. The item features a tapered copper body constructed from two embossed halves joined at a longitudinal seam. Both faces are decorated with a symmetrical sunburst motif radiating from a central blank oval reserve. The flask is fitted with a brass collar and a fixed cylindrical nozzle. This style of flask was widely produced by Sheffield makers during the mid-Victorian era. Total length: 17.8 cm (7 inches).
