A Mid 20th Century Neoclassical Style Painted Wooden Floor Lamp - A neoclassical style floor lamp, also known as a standard lamp, featuring a turned and carved wooden or composite structure. The piece is designed with a tall, fluted central column interspersed with decorative reeded bulbous sections and stylised acanthus leaf carvings. It stands on a broad, circular stepped base decorated with concentric bands of moulded foliate motifs. The entire lamp is finished in a cream-coloured paint. The electrical hardware includes a brass-toned metal socket and a wire harp designed to accommodate a standard lampshade. The lamp is fitted with a white electrical cord and includes a modern compact fluorescent bulb.
