Daniel Maclise, The Death of Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar. - A largeprint by Daniel Maclise RA for the Palace of Westminster, titled The Death of Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar. The panoramic composition depicts Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson on the deck of HMS Victory during the naval engagement, surrounded by crew and officers including Captain Hardy. The work is a fine line engraving characteristic of the period and includes a separate printed title label set into a window in the mount. The print is presented in a stained wood frame with a gilt inner slip and a cream-coloured mount. No signatures or publisher marks are visible as the sheet is obscured by the mount.
