Antique and Vintage White Metal? Pocket Compasses Including an RMS Lusitania Commemorative Example - An assortment of white metal? pocket compasses of varying designs and periods. The collection includes a notable commemorative lid featuring an engraved depiction of a four-funnelled ocean liner within a lifebelt frame, inscribed IN MEMORIAM and LUSITANIA. A lower scrolling ribbon is marked ACC LIVERPOOL, and the piece is stamped with the characters QCC over 1914, alongside a mark of three concentric rounded rectangles. One large compass features a cream-coloured dial with an elaborate decorative compass rose and a blued-steel needle. Another example has a black dial with bold green cardinal markers and red degree increments, fitted with a suspension ring to the case. A smaller black-dialled compass is marked JAPAN. The group also comprises a silver-dialled compass with a central brass pivot and two further white metal? lids.
