A Large Continental? Porcelain Figure of a Rococo Courtly Lady, 14.5” - A large Continental? porcelain figure depicting an 18th-century courtly lady in Rococo style attire. The figure is modelled in a graceful standing pose, wearing an elaborate pink and white feathered hat and a blue lace-up bodice detailed with gilt effect highlights and ruff collar. Her voluminous skirt is decorated with vertical stripes of polychrome floral sprigs and geometric patterns, further embellished with an extensive draped garland of applied porcelain roses and turquoise ribbon bows. She is shown holding a single rose in her right hand. The figure is set upon a circular, grassy-mounded base featuring a gilt effect border. Height: 37 cm.
