Mid-Century White Metal and Pearloid Standing Crucifix, 5” - A mid-20th-century standing crucifix of architectural form. The cross is constructed from white metal with inset panels of marbled pearloid? material to the upright and transom. It features a cast metal corpus of Christ and a rectangular plaque at the head of the cross. The entire piece is mounted onto a conical pedestal base with a stepped rim. The upper plaque is embossed with the characters INRI. The foot of the base is embossed with the Latin inscription ECCE HOMO. The white metal surfaces exhibit a polished finish with visible surface scuffing particularly to the pedestal. Width: 12.7 cm.
