A Pair of Antique English Oak Barley Twist Candlesticks - A pair of oak? candlesticks of barley-twist form. Each piece is constructed with a spiral-turned stem, carved in a continuous open twist, set between simple turned collars. The stems are supported by broad, circular stepped bases with rounded edges. The wood exhibits a pronounced grain and is finished with a deep mahogany-toned stain and a lustrous polished sheen. The top of each candlestick is fitted with a black-finished metal? sconce, featuring a wide circular drip pan and a central socket. The undersides of the bases are flush and appear to be finished in a consistent dark stain. Height: 32 cm.
