An Art Nouveau White Metal? Decorative Vase 12.5” - An Art Nouveau white metal? decorative sleeve or vase cover of tapered cylindrical form. The piece is constructed from a rolled metal sheet joined by a single vertical soldered seam. It features extensive high-relief repoussé and chased decoration depicting a flowering rose bush with three prominent blooms, closed buds, and winding thorny vines, all set against a finely stippled textured ground. Approximately one-third of the circumference is left plain and bordered by a single vertical thorny vine. The metal exhibits an aged, dull grey patina throughout, and the rims at either end are rolled, with the overall form slightly flared toward the base. No signatures or inscriptions are visible on the exterior surfaces. Length: 31.8 cm.
