This Journal is in fact a collection of Essays on a wide range of subjects related to Jewish Life. There are personal essays including the Bar- Mitzvah presentation made to the author's son, and the elegy given at the passing of a beloved sister. There is a general survey of one of the subjects the author was a great expert in Jewish Medical Ethics. There are reflections on his time as Chief Rabbi of Ireland and on the relationship between Jews and Irish in the United States. There are reflections on a Jewish Spanish- Portugese community in the seventeenth century noting many resemblances between its ccmmunal life and communal life today. There is writing on Mizrachi and on Religious Zionism.
Rabbi Jakobovitz brings great learning to each subject he discusses and anyone who takes an interest in Jewish communal life will learn much from this book.
