Important commentary on Megillas Esther that has been cited by many Gedolei Yisrael throughout the ages.
Rabbi Avraham Tzahalon (d. 1600), a grandson of Rabbi Yitzchak Karo, author of Toldos Yitzchak and grandfather of Rabbi Yosef Karo (see leaf 36a), was born in Tzfas. He journeyed to Bagdad where he compiled this impressive work on Megillas Esther in 1593 (see preface and colophon). Rabbi Avraham Tzahalon was the first among the Arizal's students to print his teachings when he included tikkunim for repentance in his sefer Marpeh Lenefesh (Venice, 1595).

Page Size: 18.5 cm. Condition: Antique quarter-parchment binding.
Provenance: This sefer was originally in the library of the famed schlorley collector Chacham Shlomo of Dubna
(1738-1813) and boasts his autograph on the title page. It later passed to Yaakov Naftali Hertz Levi of Amsterdam with his ex-libris.
