Letter of Blessing from the Minchas Elazar of Munkatch, 1936

Letter of blessing for the new year written during the aseres yemei teshuva, 1936.
The letter was written by the devoted aide of the Minchas Elazar, Rabbi Chaim Dov Greenfield, and includes a handwritten note and signature from the Minchas Elazar himself.

Rabbi Chaim Elazar Spira (1868 – 1937) was also known as the Minchas Elazar of Munkatch and was the son of the Darchei Teshuva. A great admor of prewar Hungary, he was well-versed in all areas of Torah and was close to many of his generation's leaders. During his father's lifetime he was appointed Rosh Av Beis Din of Munkatch and in 1913 became rabbi and admor as well. He was a fearless and avid opponent of the Assimilation and was an outspoken supporter of maintaining unbroken and unchanged mesorah. Of his writings, many sefarim were published, such as Responsa Minchas Elazar, Darchei Teshuva on hilchos nidah, Darchei Chaim V'Shalom, Likutei Divrei Torah, Chamisha Ma'amaros, Os Chaim V'Shalom and others.
