Signed Letter from Rabbi Menachem Nachum Twersky of Rachmastrivka; 1889
Letter from Rabbi Menachem Nachum Twersky of Rachmastrivka addressed to his uncle, Rabbi David Halpern, inviting him to the marriage of his son, Rabbi Moshe, with the daughter of Rabbi Yitzchak of Bahush.
The Admor's large, impressive signature can be found at the end of the letter.
Rabbi Menachem Nachum Twersky of Rachmastrivka (1840 - 1936) was the son of Rabbi Yochanan of Rachmastrivka, son of Rabbi Mordechai of Chernobyl. He served as Admor following his father's passing in 1895. In 1926, he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael and settled in Jerusalem. There, he established a Chassidic court of Rachmastrivka together with his brother. He is the great-grandfather of the present-day Rachmastrivka Rebbe in Jerusalem.
