SYED SADEQUAIN (PAKISTANI, 1930-1987), ABSTRACT CALLIGRAPHIC COMPOSITION. - This modernist work on paper is an abstract calligraphic composition by the Pakistani artist Syed Sadequain. The piece is executed in pen and black ink with yellowish-brown tinted ink on cream-toned paper. The design features three large, stylized forms with dense internal cross-hatched detailing, set against a background of finer cross-hatching and framed by heavy horizontal bars at the top and bottom.
