A Rare Bronze and Wood Smoothing Iron, Germany, 19th Century
Description: With hinged cover topped with handle sculpted as two lions flanking a crown topping the Tree of Life. On the rear a hinged lid covering the slot for heating brick decorated with Star of David. Probably used for ironing Tallits. With original blackened iron stand.
