Taiwan fir statue of the Four Heavenly Kings The Four Heavenly Kings were originally the guardian gods of ancient India. In the Buddhist world, they guard the four heavenly kings located halfway up Mount Sumeru. Jigodade guards the east, Zangwangdade guards the south, Komudade guards the west, and Taverna guards the north. Among them, Duomengde, also known as Bishamonten, is worshipped separately. As a god of auspiciousness, he is also counted as one of the Seven Lucky Gods.
