An Edwardian Silver-Mounted Cut-Glass Dressing Table Jar, Birmingham, 1910 - An Edwardian-period cut-glass dressing table jar featuring a cylindrical body with a diamond-cut pattern and a starburst-cut base. The jar is fitted with a circular sterling silver lid decorated with an embossed repoussé design of five cherub heads, a motif inspired by Sir Joshua Reynolds' ”A Child's Angels,” set within a scrolled border. The lid is stamped with the Birmingham assay office anchor, the lion passant for sterling silver, and the date letter ”l” for 1910. The maker's mark ”W.D” is for William Devenport.
