Octagonal Blue and White Transfer-Printed Earthenware Plate - An octagonal earthenware plate featuring a blue transfer-printed design. The central scene depicts a romantic pastoral subject with a couple seated on a bench beneath a large tree, set within a landscape of stylized foliage and trees. The scene is framed by a wide border of scrolling foliate motifs and flowers, with an internal geometric chain-link border. The reverse of the plate bears an underglaze blue backstamp featuring the word GEORGIAN arched over a central crown, with the text MADE IN ENGLAND and ALL BRITISH LABOUR below.
