Two Vintage Wood-Cutting Tools Comprising a Felling Axe and a Hand Hatchet - A lot consisting of two vintage handheld wood-cutting tools, including a full-length felling axe and a smaller hand hatchet. Both tools feature forged steel heads mounted on carved wooden handles. The felling axe is fitted with a traditional swan neck handle, showing faint, illegible stamped characters in the wood near the head. A white adhesive label marked Lot 029 is attached to the base of the felling axe handle. The smaller hatchet features a curved wooden handle decorated with two bands of green paint around the centre. The handles are crafted from a straight-grained hardwood, consistent with ash or hickory. Both heads are hung using traditional methods. No maker stamps are clearly visible on the oxidized steel surfaces. Felling axe length: approximately 760mm - 915mm Hatchet length: approximately 300mm - 355mm.
