A Vintage Corgi Scammell Scarab 3 Ton Royal Mail Articulated Truck - A vintage Corgi Scammell Scarab 3 ton Royal Mail articulated truck, produced for Promod as part of the Bypost Cresta Bygone Collectors Models series. The model consists of a die-cast metal tractor unit and chassis with a plastic semi-trailer, finished in the traditional Royal Mail red livery. The trailer body is detailed with black printed lettering reading ROYAL MAIL and the gold EIIR cypher. The tractor unit represents the 1964 3-ton mechanical horse design with a functioning coupling mechanism. The lot includes the original white and red card sleeve box, featuring the CORGI and Bypost CRESTA logos, along with the model identification POV29 1964 Scammell Scarab 3 Ton Royal Mail. Inside is a black plastic tray and a limited edition certificate of authenticity. The certificate is printed with the Bypost CRESTA from Promod branding and confirms this as number 4388 of a worldwide production of 5,000 sets, complete with a printed signature from the Managing Director of Promod Ltd. A white adhesive auction label for HCP Auctions South West reading Lot 024 is affixed to the box corner.
