A Pair of Vintage Dinky Toys Field Artillery Vehicles - A pair of vintage Dinky Toys field artillery vehicles manufactured by Meccano Ltd in England, comprising a No. 688 Field Artillery Tractor and a No. 689 25-pounder Field Gun. The tractor is modelled on the Morris Commercial Quad and is finished in an olive green paint, featuring a visible driver figure in the cab, a side-mounted spare wheel, and a rear towing hook. The underside of the tractor bears the impressed marks DINKY TOYS, 688, FIELD - ARTILLERY TRACTOR, MECCANO LTD, and MADE IN ENGLAND. The accompanying 25-pounder field gun is similarly finished in olive green and features a manually elevatable barrel. The base of the gun is marked 2 5 PR GUN, 689, DINKY TOYS, MECCANO LTD, and ENGLAND. Both models are constructed from die-cast metal and are fitted with black ridged rubber tyres on steel axles. This lot represents two components of the No. 697 Field Artillery set, lacking the intermediate ammunition limber.
