The vehicle features a rounded cab design with a circular roof hatch and two front windows, leading to a rear-mounted horizontal cylindrical water tank. The chassis is supported by four wheels on metal axles fitted with black rubberised tyres. The base of the vehicle is embossed with several legible marks including DINKY TOYS, ARMY, WATER TANKER, MECCANO LTD, and ENGLAND. The model number 643 is impressed into the rear section of the chassis frame. A black metal base plate is secured to the underside of the forward cab section.
