The die-cast metal body is finished in blue paint with white racing roundels bearing the number 6 to the sides. It features a detailed cream-coloured plastic interior, a chrome-effect engine and radiator, and black spoked wheels. The blue-painted baseplate is cast with the following legible text: MATCHBOX, MODELS OF YESTERYEAR No Y-3, 1934 RILEY MPH, LESNEY PROD. & CO. LTD., MADE IN ENGLAND, and a copyright mark for 1973. The car is housed in its original gold-toned window box, which bears the series name and manufacturer branding. The box face features a stylized code which appears as V-3.
