The gearbox housing is constructed from magnesium alloy and is embossed with the literal characters MAGNESIUM along the side. The unit is equipped with a rotary mode selector for drilling, hammer-drilling, and chiselling functions, along with a variable speed thumbwheel dial showing digits 5 and 6.
