The assortment features a variety of high-carbon steel tool profiles, including flat bastard files, triangular saw files, and tapered round rat-tail files with both single-cut and cross-cut teeth. The lot also contains several wood rasps with coarse teeth and a single perforated metal Surform-style rasp blade featuring a staggered rectangular hole pattern. Several smooth metal rods and cylindrical tubes of varying diameters are interspersed throughout the collection. The items are housed in a rectangular softwood shipping crate bearing printed black text to the exterior side reading SOUTH AFRICAN DRIED FRUIT CO LTD, PRODUCT, and THE UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA. This identifies the box as originating from the Union of South Africa period between 1910 and 1961. No maker marks or stamps are legible on the tool tangs due to the level of surface oxidation.
