A Vintage Mahogany and Brass Rowing Scull Sliding Seat Assembly - A vintage rowing scull sliding seat assembly, constructed from a combination of mahogany, oak, and brass. The shaped wooden seat, possibly carved from beech or oak, features a honey-coloured varnished finish and two distinctive circular cut-outs for weight reduction and comfort. It is mounted on small wheels designed to travel along recessed brass tracks set into two parallel wooden rails. The base frame is formed from mahogany and oak, exhibiting a tapered side profile and secured with slotted screw fasteners. A metal rod is positioned at one end, likely serving as a stop or pivot point for the mechanism. The assembly demonstrates the traditional craftsmanship associated with early to mid-20th-century sporting equipment. A small white adhesive label is present on the frame bearing the number '013'.
