A Cast Iron Wall Mounted Dinner Bell - A cast iron wall mounted dinner bell of truncated conical form, suspended from a decorative openwork scroll bracket. The bracket features a horizontal mounting plate with a foliate scrolled arm and an ornamental finial at the outer extremity. The bell is fitted with an internal heavy cast iron clapper which includes a loop at the base for the attachment of a pull cord. The entire assembly exhibits a heavily oxidised surface with a thick, uniform coating of rust and granular texture characteristic of sand-cast iron production. There are no maker's marks, signatures, or geographic identifiers visible on the metal surfaces. Traces of a yellow-orange pigment are present as a streak on the interior and exterior rim of the bell. Mounting Bracket Length: 28 cm Bell Mouth Diameter: 11.5 cm.
