A Vintage Cast Bronze Maritime Porthole - A vintage cast bronze maritime porthole, salvaged for architectural use. The heavy-duty unit features a circular mounting flange with six pre-drilled holes for bulkhead installation. The hinged inner frame, also constructed from cast bronze, houses a thick circular glass pane. A single swing-bolt and wing nut (dog) assembly secures the window in the closed position. The reverse shows a deep cylindrical sleeve designed to sit within a hull or wall opening. The metal surfaces exhibit a naturally weathered dark brown patina with significant areas of green verdigris, particularly around the outer ring and hinge. The thick glass is present and set within a weathered seal. There are no visible maker's marks or foundry stamps on the exterior metal surfaces.
