A Quantity of Late 19th Century Antique Cut Iron Nails - A quantity of antique cut iron nails from the late 19th or early 20th century. Each nail is manufactured using the machine-cut process, resulting in a characteristically square, four-sided tapering shank and a flat, roughly rectangular head. The nails are constructed from wrought or cut iron and display the typical rustic, dark patina associated with aged metalware. This assortment is stored in a rectangular orange plastic tray. While the tray is a modern utilitarian container, a blue and white fabric measuring tape is also present, featuring printed markings including a blackletter manufacturer name reading DEAN, followed by MADE IN ENGLAND and the instructional text HOME SEWING AID ONLY. Nail Length: 10 cm (approx. 4 inches).
