The block features a robust iron or cast steel housing with a thick, textured oxidation throughout. It is fitted with a single internal sheave (pulley wheel) manufactured from a copper-based alloy, displaying a characteristic green verdigris patina. The assembly includes a large, heavy-duty threaded shackle at the head, secured by a substantial nut and bolt. A secondary shackle is attached at the tail end via a large, wrought iron chain link and is secured by a pin-and-cotter arrangement.
