A Vintage Blue Painted Steel Wheel Truing Stand - A vintage wheel truing or balancing stand, likely mid-20th century, constructed from heavy-gauge C-channel steel and cast iron components. The tool features a long blue-painted steel base rail upon which sits a sliding carriage assembly. This movable carriage is secured to the rails by a large, circular cast iron locking nut. The upright assembly includes a horizontal screw mechanism terminating in a hardened conical steel tip, designed to locate within a wheel hub or axle centre. This adjustment screw is fitted with two round, knurled locking nuts, each featuring holes for a tommy bar to facilitate tightening. A partial paper label is present on the top of the carriage, featuring a blue handwritten character '7', though no manufacturer's name or brand is legible. The item is finished in industrial blue paint with natural metal finishes on the working surfaces and threaded components.
