Bidspirit auction | A Sterling Silver Owl Bookmark

A Sterling Silver Owl Bookmark - A sterling silver bookmark featuring a cast handle in the form of a three-dimensional owl. The owl is detailed with textured plumage and large, prominent eyes, joined to a flat, tapered clip body with two outer prongs and a central tongue. The reverse of the clip, near the junction with the owl, bears several marks including a vertical 925 stamp indicating sterling silver purity. Beside this are four small, struck hallmarks in a vertical row which are partially rubbed and not clearly legible as individual characters. Further to the right is a small rectangular cartouche containing a device that appears to be a bird or animal profile facing left, though the exact figure is indistinct. The bookmark is constructed from solid silver and displays natural tarnishing within the recessed areas of the casting. Gross Weight: 11.88 g.
