A Set of Six Sterling Silver Handled Pistol-Grip Butter Knives - A set of six butter knives featuring sterling silver handles in the classic pistol-grip fashion, characterized by scrolled terminals and tapering, fluted bodies. The handles are joined to rounded, spatulate blades by tiered ferrules. Each ferrule bears a series of struck hallmarks including a lion passant for sterling silver, a leopard's head for the London assay office, and a lowercase gothic letter 'u' date letter, corresponding to the year 1915. The interior lid of the presentation case is lined in blue silk and bears a gold-printed retailer's mark for ”WILSON & GILL / MANUFACTURING / GOLDSMITHS & SILVERSMITHS / 134, RECENT STREET / LONDON”. The knives are housed in their original silk and velvet-lined case with a textured black exterior.
