An Edwardian 14 Carat Gold and Faceted Amber Bar Brooch - An Edwardian bar brooch featuring a central circular faceted orange amber gemstone. The stone is set within a multi-pronged mount and is further decorated with a carved or moulded flower-head motif to the table. The stone is flanked by an openwork scrolling wirework design on a plain polished bar. The metal has been electronically tested and indicates a gold purity of 14 carat. The piece is fitted with a traditional hinged pin and C-clasp mechanism. The pin extends slightly beyond the end of the bar in a manner characteristic of the period. No hallmarks or maker's marks are visible on the metalwork. Brooch Gross Weight: 4.20 g.
