A Pair of Vintage Fata Morgana 4x Pocket Prism Binoculars - A pair of vintage miniature prism binoculars, typically utilised as opera or theatre glasses, finished in black enamel with silver-toned highlights. The instrument features a compact folding design with a central hinge and individual knurled focusing rings on the eyepieces. The prism housings are of a distinctive triangular form. The top right prism cover bears an engraved inscription in a cursive script reading Fata Morgana, positioned above a magnification mark reading 4x. The top left prism cover is marked with a rectangular device containing the characters A, B, and C arranged vertically. A numerical scale is engraved on the central hinge indicating interpupillary distances from 52 to 73. The binoculars are accompanied by their original kidney-shaped hard case, constructed from embossed brown leather with a metal snap-button fastener and a deep purple velvet-lined interior.
