A Silver Shell-Form Hinged Snuff or Pill Box - A silver hinged box fashioned in a naturalistic bivalve shell form, specifically a scallop or pecten. The exterior of the box features gadrooned ribbing with fine beaded detailing along the ridges. The two halves are joined by a flush-mounted hinge and secured by a small protruding thumbpiece. The interior shows a textured, unpolished surface from the manufacturing process. A single incised mark is present within a diamond-shaped lozenge on the interior of the lid, though the central character or symbol within it is not legible.
