A POST-WAR U.S. DIPLOMAT TO AUSTRIA PASSPORT, CA. 1949
This is a U.S. passport that belonged to an Attache to the American Legation in Vienna, Austria by the name of Floyd Edward Masten. The book bears a large variety of stamps from the many places that Masten visited during his duties as an American diplomat, including, but not limited to, Vienna, Istanbul, Ankara, Beirut, Basil, and Cyprus, among many other places. In addition, there are the many stamps, seals, and signatures that denote the book as belonging to a diplomat, as well as the obvious green cover with gilt lettering reading 'DIPLOMATIC PASSPORT'.
The passport is accompanied by a photo of a man which may have been taken by Masten during his duties. The note on the back reads "This picture was taken in the street. Selig didn't know about it."
6 1/4 x 3 1/4 in., (15.9 x 8.3 cm.)
Condition: Good overall with expected signs of age.
