A Persian kard dagger with a bright silver hilt that has been brilliantly decorated with foliate designs in vibrant green, teal, maroon, and indigo enamel inlay. The blade itself is of Damascus steel and is shaped in the characteristic manner of Persian daggers of this period. The base of the blade is decorated with floral motifs in bright gold damascene.
Qajar Persia, 19th century.
L: 12 in., (30.5 cm.)
Condition: Good overall with some very minor staining to the blade in places as well as some loss to enamel inlay in places. Dagger pokes through the scabbard a bit at the tip.
