A FRENCH HUNTING DAGGER FROM KLINGENTHAL MANUFACTORY, 19TH CENTURY
A hunting dagger from the Klingenthal factory in Alsace-Lorraine. The gilt brass hilt is decorated with two dog heads as quillons and a boar's head at center. The double-fullered blade is signed 'Coulaux Frères' on one side and 'Klingenthal' on the other. The piece is kept within a black leather scabbard with brass mounts.

Dimensions: L: 27 3/4 in., (70 cm.)
Condition: The blade is pitted throughout but is otherwise in good condition. All parts tight. Brass fixtures are mostly clean with only a light patina and some minor oxidation to the scabbard. Leather has surface wear in places but well attached to scabbard.
