A SOUTH AFRICAN KNOBKERRIE, PROBABLY ZULU, 19TH CEN.
A knobkerrie from what is now South Africa, probably belonging originally to the Zulu people. Bulbous head with short handle. Holes as decoration on the head of the weapon, might have held brass decoration. Hole for a lanyard or decoration at the bottom of the handle.
Ca. late 19th-century.

Condition: Good with expected signs wear and age. The brass tacks that were in the head are missing.
