A 19TH CENTURY MOROCCO GUNPOWDER FLASK
This antique gunpowder flask has a unique and unusual design compared to the standard flasks of the time. Originating from Morocco, possibly from the Berber people of the Atlas Mountains, the flask has a winged form that gives rise to its main conical body and the remnants of a spout that would extend upwards. Each wing has a metal suspension ring with a corresponding chain for hanging and attaching. The base structure is formed from wood and covered with leather, possibly goat. Brass studs are embellished throughout the entire surface and edges of the flask, giving it an aesthetically pleasing look.
