A 19th-century oil on canvas Orientalist school painting depicting a Circassian noble warrior* on horseback in a mountainous landscape. Fine details on the rider and the horse. The canvas is backed on board.
* Generally the subject is based on Caucasian Mountaineers Half-Sqadroon of His Emperor's Majesty Own Convoy rank uniform and weaponry of Nicholas I weigh era.
First half of the 19th century.
