A WOODEN DRUMMER STATUE. GABON, 19-20TH CC.
The statue completely carved from wood depicting a man engaged in playing the drum which probably has a ritual significance. The symbols carved on his forehead and body, wide bracelets on his wrists have a benevolent symbolism. The figurine is superbly carved in attention to each small detail.
Dimensions: 13 ½ x 4 x 5 in., (34.3 x 10 x 13 cm.)
Condition: Very good with expected signs of use
