Lladro Porcelain Figurine Surprise 5901 Clown with Puppies A Lladro glazed porcelain figurine titled Surprise (Spanish title Magia Payaso y Perrito), model number 5901, from the Lladro Circus Collection. The figurine depicts a standing clown with a melancholic expression, wearing a tall-collared taupe overcoat, a blue and white striped shirt, and checkered trousers in muted pink and cream tones. The character features curly lavender hair topped with a small blue bowler hat and is shown holding his coat open to reveal three small puppies hiding within the folds. The piece is attributed to the sculptor Juan Huerta and features a high-gloss finish. The underside bears the blue printed Lladro factory mark with the bellflower symbol, reading Lladro, TJ 66 H, Hand Made in Spain, and copyright DAISA 1991. The base is also impressed with the model number 5901, a diamond mark containing the number 3, and the characters F-2 AG 40. The figurine is accompanied by its original retail box, a Circus Collection illustrated booklet, and a Lladro Assurance Program certificate in a plastic sleeve.
