Old Tupton Ware Tube-lined Mother and Daughter Ceramic Figurine A contemporary ceramic figurine produced by Old Tupton Ware, depicting a mother and daughter in a stylized Art Deco aesthetic. The mother figure stands behind the child with her arms draped over the girl's shoulders. Both figures are finished in a pale cream-coloured glossy glaze. A dark pink wrap is draped around the mother's shoulders. The lower section of the dresses features a vibrant floral pattern of irises and snowdrops, rendered using the tube-lining technique where raised outlines of slip define the hand-painted coloured glazes in shades of blue, yellow, and green against a sunset-toned background. The underside of the base bears a black transfer-printed mark consisting of a crown logo above the words Old Tupton Ware Hand Painted. Two gold foil labels are also attached to the base: one reading Hand Painted Old Tupton Ware with a UK telephone number, and a smaller label reading MADE IN CHINA. Height: 29 cm.
